From June to now, the number of dengue fever cases in Dak Lak province has continuously increased; Many patients are hospitalized in severe dengue shock, with warning signs.

According to statistics of the Center for Disease Control of Dak Lak province, from the beginning of the year to July 16, the province recorded 750 cases of dengue fever; including 738 cases of Dengue hemorrhagic fever and Dengue hemorrhagic fever with warning signs, 12 cases of severe Dengue hemorrhagic fever and one death.

Dengue fever cases appeared in 15/15 districts and cities. Ea Kar district alarmed with 129 cases, Buon Ma Thuot city 123 cases, Ea H'Leo district 109 cases.

The case of death is a 7-year-old child, in Buon Ho town. Previously, on July 4, the child showed symptoms of fever, took medicine at home but did not reduce it.

On July 6, the family took the baby to a medical facility in Buon Ma Thuot city. The baby was diagnosed with dengue fever and prescribed home treatment.

On July 8, the child had abdominal pain, cold hands and feet, was taken to the hospital by family members at Duc Tam Children's Hospital and transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital.

Here, the baby was diagnosed with severe dengue hemorrhagic fever on the 4th day, treated with intravenous fluids and other supportive drugs. However, the patient died with a diagnosis of acute myocarditis, severe Dengue hemorrhagic fever on the 4th day, and re-shocked for the first time.

Dr. Tran Thi Thuy Minh, Head of General Pediatrics Department of Central Highlands General Hospital, said that in the past 1 week, the number of patients with dengue fever increased dramatically compared to the same period last month. . There are many severe cases admitted to the hospital in the state of hemorrhagic shock and continuous bleeding.

This is a warning to parents during the dengue epidemic season. Parents need to pay attention not to let their children be bitten by mosquitoes, if there are symptoms of the disease, they must immediately go to the nearest medical facility for timely classification and treatment, to avoid unfortunate complications.

Doctor Hoang Hai Phuc, Deputy Director in charge of the Center for Disease Control of Dak Lak Province, said that the reason for the increase in the number of dengue cases in the area was because Dak Lak entered the rainy season, which is favorable for the larvae. disease-carrying mosquitoes thrive. In addition, the work of environmental sanitation is still limited, and people are still subjective and neglectful in disease prevention. When suffering from the disease, people often buy drugs to treat at home, making the disease very difficult to treat, and the risk of death is high.
