Some cases are caused by Rhinovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae bacteria, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and the common Adenovirus. Leading Chinese epidemiologist Wang Huaqing recommends that vaccines are still one of the effective ways to prevent respiratory infections caused by viruses or bacteria such as measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

The vaccine provides high protection against more than 40 respiratory infections. China's National Health Commission warns of the risk of a resurgence in flu cases, including COVID-19.

Localities need to increase timely and accurate reporting of infectious disease cases. According to experts, seasonal flu will peak in winter and spring, while the number of cases of pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae bacteria will continue to increase in the near future.
