Children are susceptible to respiratory failure, flu, sore throat, and diarrhea in winter. Children need to keep warm, keep their body clean, and take them to the doctor as soon as there are any unusual signs.

Reason
Cold weather makes children vulnerable to disease-causing viruses and bacteria. Some viruses grow faster and stronger, and are even more contagious when the air is cooler and less humid. Nasal mucus can be drier and stickier during winter days, allowing the virus to spread. In shared spaces, children living close together and breathing the same air can easily spread diseases, especially respiratory diseases.
Frequent changes and interruptions in eating and sleeping habits can lead to the immune system being more vulnerable and less effective in fighting infections.
Common disease
Bronchitis
The disease is common in children under one year old or is suffering from another infectious disease such as flu, measles, whooping cough... Symptoms are similar to asthma, cough, clear runny nose, high fever. Coughing more and more, difficulty breathing, wheezing. In severe cases, the person will turn purple, the chest will be concave, breathing will be difficult, and in serious cases, breathing will stop.
The illness lasts for one to two weeks, and the baby will recover completely with good care. Otherwise, the illness will last for many weeks. Children should be breastfed until two years old to strengthen their antibodies. When a child shows signs of difficulty breathing, poor feeding, cyanosis, complications of respiratory failure, pneumonia, collapsed lung... they should be taken to a doctor for early examination.
Flu
This is a virus that causes a very contagious respiratory infection. The disease often begins suddenly, with symptoms of high fever, cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, muscle aches, fatigue, and may be accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea.
The best way to prevent and reduce complications is to get a flu vaccine.
Cold
The disease is caused by a virus, and children may have a mild fever right from the time they get sick. Common symptoms include runny nose, stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, fever, vomiting and diarrhea...
When children have a cold, they need to rest and drink enough water. Cough and cold medications are generally not recommended for children under 6 years old.
Bacterial sore throat
The disease is caused by bacteria, is easily spread, and is common in the fall, winter and early spring, especially in children aged 5 to 15 years old. Symptoms include sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, stomachache, headache, cough...
Bacterial sore throat can be easily and quickly treated with antibiotics.
Diarrhea
Diarrhea is one of the common diseases of children in winter. The illness is caused by rotavirus and usually lasts for three to seven days. The disease is common in young children, especially children from three to 24 months old.
When children have diarrhea, they should be taken to a doctor for examination. Do not force children to eat a lot, but give them enough water to drink. Use Oresol solution to compensate for lost water to help the body avoid losing strength. Children with high fever, bloody stools, phlegm, or severe abdominal pain should see a doctor immediately.
Keep children hygienic, wash hands regularly with soap and water. Get flu vaccine. Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water.
