Marburg disease is an acute infectious disease caused by the Marburg virus, with a high mortality rate and currently there is no specific treatment or preventive vaccine.


The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, Thu Duc city and the heads of the relevant departments and agencies to implement measures to monitor, prevent and prevent epidemics from occurring in the city.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health must focus on closely monitoring people on entry, at the community and at medical facilities, thereby detecting suspected cases early for epidemiological investigation (especially paying attention to people entering from endemic countries in Africa within 21 days).

At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also requested the City's Department of Health to direct its affiliated medical units to coordinate with the Pasteur Institute in taking samples for diagnostic testing, case management (if any) and treatment for the disease. not spread to the community; Actively coordinate with departments, branches and localities, develop plans according to situations to be ready to respond in case of epidemics occurring in the city, avoiding passive cases; Prepare medicines, equipment, human resources and funds to implement measures to collect, treat and prevent epidemics.

In addition, the Department of Health directs medical examination and treatment facilities when detecting cases with symptoms of high fever, headache, discomfort, and may appear additional symptoms such as diarrhea, pain, etc. abdomen, cramps, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, it is necessary to investigate the epidemiology, exploit the contact history to detect suspected cases and take samples in time; Ensure personnel, equipment, medical supplies, drugs to implement measures to collect and treat in time when there are suspected or infected cases, minimizing the severity of cases and death. .

Departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and Thu Duc City coordinate with the health sector to develop contingency plans to be ready in the event of an anomaly.
