Hanoi: Covid-19 patients increased sharply

Recently, a representative of Thanh Nhan Hospital (Hanoi) said that in recent days, the number of Covid-19 patients that this place has received has increased sharply.

Specifically, during March, the hospital only recorded 25 patients. However, only in the first 10 days of April, 75 people with Covid-19 were hospitalized, a threefold increase. More worrisome is the growing number of inpatients. In the last month, only 1-2 patients were hospitalized, but now there are about 10 patients and most require oxygen support.

Doctor Nguyen Trong Hung, Deputy Department of Infectious Diseases, Thanh Nhan Hospital, said that it may be because people have recently skipped vaccination, the immune response in the community has decreased, and the spread of the disease tends to return. . In addition, hot and humid weather can also increase the epidemic.

At the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, according to the latest statistics, there are currently 74 Covid-19 patients being treated, including 5 ventilators and 10 oxygen patients. The hospital side also recorded an increase in Covid-19 cases recently, when hospitalized patients had initial symptoms such as cough, fever, fatigue...

On April 11, the Ministry of Health announced that Vietnam recorded 183 new Covid-19 cases, an increase of more than 70 cases compared to the previous day. This is also the highest number of cases per day so far this year.

In the face of the above unfavorable information, many opinions are concerned about the possibility that the Covid-19 epidemic may break out again, especially when it is nearing the holiday time of April 30 to May 1, leading to a large number of people practicing. crowded entertainment centers, easily leading to the risk of disease spread. In addition to Hanoi, the epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City is also very concerned.
