The Ministry of Health has reported on the epidemic situation during the 2024 Lunar New Year (February 8 - 14).

Accordingly, regarding the dengue fever epidemic, the whole country recorded 357 cases of the disease, with no deaths recorded. There are 5 localities with dengue fever outbreaks that must be monitored, including: Tien Giang (11 outbreaks), An Giang (9 outbreaks), Tay Ninh (8 outbreaks), Ben Tre (6 outbreaks), Ho Chi Minh City (3 outbreaks).

Regarding the hand, foot and mouth disease epidemic, the country recorded 225 reported cases of the disease, with no recorded deaths.

During Tet, the whole country did not record any cases of Covid-19, measles, monkeypox, influenza A (H5N1), influenza A (H5N6), MERS-CoV.

The whole country has recorded 2 cases of rabies in humans who died in Ca Mau (February 12) and Binh Thuan (February 15).

As for the epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), in the 6th week of 2024 (from February 5 to 11), Ho Chi Minh City recorded 91 cases of the disease. hand, foot and mouth, reduced by half compared to the average 4 weeks ago. The total number of hand, foot and mouth cases accumulated from the beginning of 2024 to this time is 1,079 cases. Districts with a high number of cases per 100,000 people include District 6, District 8 and Nha Be District.

In week 6, Ho Chi Minh City also recorded 116 cases of dengue fever, down by half compared to the average 4 weeks ago. The total cumulative number of dengue fever cases from the beginning of 2024 to week 6 is 1,358 cases. Districts with a high number of cases per 100,000 people include District 1, District 12 and Tan Phu District.

HCDC calls on people to implement measures to prevent dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease as recommended by the health sector.
